Montessori identifies
each child as a
unique individual

The Montessori philosophy
recognises each child’s needs and through working with the specialised equipment, feeds those needs.

All children are treated with respect and offered individual guidance in a stimulating environment.

Montessori - An Education for life

The Montessori classroom provides a unique cycle of learning designed to take advantage of the child’s sensitive years of learning between 2 - 6 years of age, that is when they are able to absorb information from an enriched and stimulating environment. These are periods of intense fascination for learning particular skills, such as counting and sequencing. It is easier for a child to develop a particular skill during the sensitive period than at any other time in their life as they learn effortlessly.

The child is free to choose from a large variety of activities to satisfy their individual needs. The Montessori teacher as ‘directress’ observes the needs and interests of each child. She demonstrates the correct use of the material to the child and carefully watches on a daily basis.

Montessori materials are divided into five main areas:
LANGUAGE:Listening, speaking, reading and writing.
MATHEMATICS: A foundation for later development of mathematical concepts.
SENSORIAL: Discriminating & verbalising dimensional differences, colours, shapes, & textures.
PRACTICAL: Everyday activities developing hand dexterity & life skills.
CULTURE: Geography, simple biology, history, science and art.

Extramural Activities

Programs are taught in a fun-filled, energetic and positive way with no pressure to achieve. Class numbers are small, children are taught to listen, watch attentively and concentrate. Healthy values are instilled: treating others with respect, co-operating, taking turns, and being a good sport.

Soccersize provides an early training platform for children aged 3-8 years old where they will learn various skills, not only in soccer, but other sports that involve playing with the ball.
