I completed my yoga teacher training in 2003 under the lineage of Sri Swami Sivananda in Kerala, India. I then specialized in Pregnancy yoga (India), and Children Yoga (Netherlands, South Africa). I keep participating in courses and workshops in Europe and SA to improve my own yoga practice and knowledge in order to teach my students in the best possible way.

Why should you practice yoga?
What can yoga do for you?

Yoga postures, or asanas as they are traditionally called, are, at the very least, a form of exercise, and we must expect from them the benefits that we would from other forms of exercise. Any exercise program should lead us towards greater physical and mental health. In other words, it should help promote the following:

We require all five for good health, and asanas can give us all five if they are done correctly. Furthermore, asanas and specific breathing practices can help heal various imbalances in our body and mind.

Through consciously performed body postures and appropriate breathing, your body and mind will feel totally rejuvenated even after the first class. The yoga postures combined with conscious breathing rid the body of muscle tension and emotional stress so that life energy flows better and a general feeling of well-being will be increased!

Yoga is unique because the wide range of body postures reach all the muscle groups in the body. This creates more flexibility in joints as well as more strength and muscle tone. The quietly held postures work deeply and increase circulation throughout the body, and the organs receive a gentle massage through which digestive health is improved. The specific breathing techniques deliver extra oxygen that improve circulation and calm the mind, making one more alert and focused. The guided relaxation and meditation address stress, fatigue and depression quite effectively.

There are plenty of reasons to start yoga but no excuse is good enough not to do that!

Reiki is a form of energy healing, in which life energy is transmitted by placing the hands gently in specific positions either on or above the fully dressed body.
The energy manages its own flow to and within the recipient. It draws through the healer exactly that amount of energy which the recipient needs. All this happens without direct conscious intervention by the healer.
Reiki is capable of healing anything because it works at very basic levels of reality. The limits to Reiki seem to be in the recipient’s willingness to cast off old habits and patterns, to accept change and to accept healing.
Reiki in Japanese means "universal life energy". It is designed to relieve pain, restore vitality, heal illnesses, and aid spiritual growth. It was developed by Dr. Mikao Usui, a Christian monk in Japan. I am a Reiki Master in the Dr. USUI lineage tradition.
Cost for a 60 minute session: R250. I also travel to your home with my table. Discounts apply for pensioners and students upon request.
