back massage 45 minutes • R300

This classic massage will both relax and tone your body while providing excellent therapeutic effects. It is a soothing massage which relieves stiffness, tension, numbness and pain. The main purpose of Swedish massage is to increase the oxygen flow in the blood and to release toxins from the muscles.

Other benefits include stimulation of circulation (without increasing heart load), an increase in muscle tone and shortening recovery time from muscular strain by flushing the tissues of lactic acid, uric acid, and other metabolic wastes.

A back massage ends with your choice of either a hand, foot or scalp massage. A full body massage which includes the back, legs, feet, hands and scalp. Go on treat yourself!

A pregnancy massage (also known as a pre-natal massage) is specifically designed to take into account the special attention a mother-to-be needs. This is a very comfortable side-lying full body massage in which pillows are used for extra support. The tummy is not touched, the focus is on easing tension in the upper back, neck and shoulders, and relieving pain in the lower back. It helps with circulation and mobility, and is great for those tired feet!

Gentle warmth, exquisite relaxation and invigoration: pure luxury!
This massage uses heated basalt stones that warm your muscles, allowing a much deeper working of the tissues than conventional massage. Oil is smoothed onto the skin and the stones are then worked in place of the therapist's hands, applying pressure and heat to the body. It is said that one stroke of the stone is equivalent to ten of the hand. The use of hot stones for healing is apparent in many cultures, however it wasn't until Mary Nelson introduced her hot stone massage technique called LaStone, that the use of hot stones for massage caught on. This massage is incredibly detoxing and relaxing.

Aurora: Offering Reflexology Treatment

A soothing Reflexology treatment brings for many people a variety of often unexpected benefits. Our bodies are mirrored in our feet. By manipulating reflex points in our feet, we can find imbalances in the corresponding body parts and promote a free flow of energy. Dating back as far as 5,000 years to ancient Egypt, India and China, reflexology was introduced to the West in 1913 by Dr Fitzgerald and later developed by Eunice Ingham in the 1930s to the style that we use today.

Reflexology will give you a feeling of holistic well being and rebalance. As toxins gravitate to the feet, reflexology helps cleanse the body of toxins and it can relieve many other conditions such as stress/tension, fatigue, insomnia, aches and pains, sciatica, headaches, PMS and IBS. Having trouble falling pregnant? Reflexology is especially helpful for treating infertility. Reflexologists do not claim to cure, diagnose or prescribe. No clothes need to be removed for this treatment.

specialising in Lymphedema

The effective treatment and control of lymphedema (sometimes occurring after cancer treatment) and conditions arising from venous insufficiency. CDT has 2 phases:

The reductive, intensive phase:
To bring the lymphedema under control (to visibly reduce the swelling and other symptoms in the affected limb).

Although treatment plans are tailored to the individual, this phase generally involves 5 treatments per week for 2 or more weeks (depending on how long it takes to bring down the swelling). The treatments include manual lymph drainage, short-stretch compression bandaging using foam (bandages at own expense) and exercises.

Maintenance phase:
Direction on how to maintain the results of the intensive phase on your own. Getting fitted for compression garments and learning how to put them on correctly and care for them. Coming for check-up treatments if and when you see fit.
