Terms & Conditions

  1. By entering this competition, you accept and agree to the following terms and conditions which will govern the competition. Furthermore, you verify that you are unaware of any reason legally prohibiting you from entering this competition and, if the competition requires the submission of photographs, artwork or images of people, or of anything else that requires consent or copyright, that you have the necessary consent and authority to do so, if required. Any entrant who contravenes these rules may be disqualified from the competition.
  2. The Promoters of this competition are Howard Shopping Centre and Mustard Seed Relationship Marketing.
  3. You may only participate in this competition if you are a citizen and resident of South Africa or a legal foreign national residing in Cape Town, 18 years of age or older, and in possession of a valid identity document or passport. The winner will be required to present a valid identity document upon receipt of the prize. It is the winners’ responsibility to collect their prize/s from Howard Shopping Centre.
  4. The competition will run from 30 April to 28 May 2021. Late entries will not be accepted.
  5. To enter the main competition: Shoppers will be required to visit the centre during the competition period and spend R150 or more at any store or restaurant in Howard Shopping Centre. Shoppers can then play the Crack the Code game on the activation days, a Friday and Saturday from 11am-1pm, during the 5-week competition period to win instant prizes. 1 till slip will equal 1 entry.
  6. Only original till slips from stores and restaurants in Howard Shopping Centre will be accepted (no duplicates or photocopies, nor receipts for gift cards or account payments will be accepted). You may accumulate more than one till slip to make up the R150 amount.
  7. All entrants will automatically be put into a draw for the main prize of R5 000 in shopping vouchers which will only be redeemable at stores and restaurants at Howard Shopping Centre. The prize is neither negotiable nor transferable and may not be exchanged for cash.
  8. The prizes may be subject to additional terms and conditions not mentioned hereunder, but in accordance with relevant South African legislation. The Promoters reserve the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if any original prize becomes unavailable for any unforeseen reason.
  9. The Promoters will try to contact the main prize winner for 5 days following the draw. If the winner that period, or chooses to decline the prize, then their prize will be forfeited, and another winner will be drawn as soon as possible. If the winner does not collect their prize within 30 days of being notified, the winner will unfortunately forfeit the prize.
  10. The main prize draw will take place on 31 May 2021 and the winner will be contacted telephonically.
  11. The judges’ decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
  12. You may not enter the competition if you are a director, member, partner, employee, tenant (or employee of a tenant), agent, consultant or supplier to the Promoters, or their respective spouses, partners, family members (parents, siblings and children), business partners or associates.
  13. Participants in this competition hereby indemnify, release and hold harmless the Promoters and their successors, employees, officers, suppliers, contractors, agents, consultants, directors and shareholders from and against any losses, claims, proceedings, actions, damages, liability for harm, injury or death, demands, expenses or any costs howsoever arising out of their participation in this competition or their use of the prizes, and/or any person with whom they share that prize.
  14. The laws of the Republic of South Africa govern this competition.
  15. The Promoters reserve the right to cancel, modify or amend the competition at any time if deemed necessary in their own opinion or if circumstances arise outside of their control.

These rules can only be modified by the Promoter (in its reasonable discretion) in a written revision to these rules posted on the Howard Shopping Centre Website or (at the Promoter's sole discretion) any other potential official competition communication methods reasonably calculated to reach a majority of potential participants.

Participation

  1. The Promoters of this competition are Howard Shopping Centre and Mustard Seed Relationship Marketing. No person who is a director, employee, tenant, tenant staff member, agent of or consultant to the Promoters, or who is a spouse, life partner, parent, child, brother, sister, business partner, or associate to a director, employee, tenant, tenant staff member or agent of or consultant to the Promoters or the sponsor is eligible to participate in this competition. No person who has won a Howard Shopping Centre competition in the last 6 months may enter this competition. This competition is only open to legal residents of the Republic of South Africa aged eighteen years or over and residing in Cape Town.
  2. One winning entry will be randomly selected from all entries received. This competition will run from 1 May until 23:59 on 9 May 2021. No late entries will be accepted. The winner will be announced and contacted via Facebook.
  3. The winner will be required to present a valid identity document upon receipt of the prize. It’s the winner’s responsibility to collect their prize from Gardens Shopping Centre.
  4. Only one entry per person will be accepted. Entries on behalf of another person will not be accepted.

Entries

  1. This is a digitally run promotional competition. Only entries received online via the Promoter's official Facebook account, www.facebook.com/howardshopping will be accepted.
  2. To enter, customers must like the Facebook page and tell us what their fave mom meal is in the comments section of the Facebook competition post.
  3. It is an optional condition of entry that participants agree to receive future correspondence from the Promoter by email and/or SMS or to opt-out from future promotional communications not related to this competition. Anyone who has opted in can unsubscribe from these communications at any time by contacting the Promoter or following the unsubscribe link or instructions on the future communication.
  4. Entries that are unintelligible or incomplete will be deemed invalid. No responsibility will be accepted for entries lost, delayed or damaged in transmission. Entries reflected on the Promoter’s records will be treated as the only validation source and will be the only evidence of successful entries..
  5. There will be one winner who will be randomly selected on Monday, 10 May 2021.
  6. If the winner cannot be contacted within 7 days after the draw, does not respond to messages within that time period or chooses to decline the prize, then their prize will be forfeited and another winner will be drawn.

Prizes

  1. The prize is not transferable or negotiable and is not redeemable for cash.
  2. The winner will receive a Mother’s Day breakfast for two at Pizzeria Villagio, which can be redeemed at anytime after the competition has ended, and a pamper hamper to the value of R1000.
  3. The prize may be subject to additional terms and conditions not mentioned hereunder, but in accordance with relevant South African legislation. The Promoters reserve the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if the original prize becomes unavailable for any unforeseen reason.

General Rules

  1. Under no circumstances will the Promoter and its successors, employees, officers, suppliers, contractors, agents, consultants, directors and shareholders be liable for all and any losses, claims, proceedings, actions, damages, (direct, consequential or otherwise), liability, demands, expenses, legal costs (on an attorney and own client basis), medical costs or other costs howsoever arising out of, based upon, or in connection with (directly or indirectly) the competition, to the maximum extent permitted by law.
  2. The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  3. The laws of the Republic of South Africa govern this competition.
  4. Participants in the competition understand and agree that in order to offer the competition, the Promoter must collect and use personal information about participants.
  5. This competition is not in any way affiliated to and/or endorsed by Facebook..
